COBIA
THE GULF'S MOST WANTED

WHERE WE FIND THEM
Around Orange Beach, Cobia are commonly found around reefs, wrecks, buoys, channel markers, bait schools, and along the beaches during their spring migration.
HOW WE CATCH THEM
We use a variety of techniques depending on conditions, but these are our go-to methods:
- Sight fishing to cruising fish
- Live bait fishing around reefs and structure
- Casting jigs and artificial lures
- Fishing around buoys, wrecks, and bait schools
Captain's Tip
“Keep your eyes open. Some of the biggest Cobia are spotted cruising right on the surface, and a well-placed cast can turn into a battle you’ll never forget.”
Capt. Justin Walker
