WHERE WE FIND THEM
Around Orange Beach, Grey Triggerfish are commonly found around reefs, wrecks, artificial reefs, and hard-bottom structure where they feed on crustaceans and other bottom-dwelling prey.
HOW WE CATCH THEM
We use a variety of techniques depending on conditions, but these are our go-to methods:
- Bottom fishing around reefs and wrecks
- Fishing small baits close to structure
- Targeting hard-bottom areas offshore
- Light tackle fishing around artificial reefs
Captain's Tip
“A Triggerfish bite can be surprisingly subtle. If something keeps stealing your bait without getting hooked, there’s a good chance Triggerfish are the culprit.”
Capt. Justin Walker
