WHERE WE FIND THEM
Mahi-Mahi are commonly found around floating debris, weed lines, buoys, current breaks, and other offshore structures that attract baitfish. Around Orange Beach, they’re most often encountered in blue-water conditions where bait and favorable currents come together.
HOW WE CATCH THEM
We use a variety of techniques depending on conditions, but these are our go-to methods:
- Trolling with skirted lures and rigged baits
- Casting to fish found around floating debris
- Live bait fishing when schools are active
- Light tackle option for a fun fight
Captain's Tip
“When you catch one Mahi, keep your eyes in the water. They’re often traveling in groups, and there’s usually more than one fish nearby.”
Capt. Justin Walker
