WHERE WE FIND THEM
Red Snapper are commonly found around offshore reefs, wrecks, artificial reefs, and hard-bottom structure throughout the Gulf. Around Orange Beach, they often gather near areas that provide both cover and access to baitfish.
HOW WE CATCH THEM
We use a variety of techniques depending on conditions, but these are our go-to methods:
- Bottom fishing with live bait or cut bait
- Vertical jigging around reefs, wrecks, and hard structure
- Fishing reefs, wrecks, and offshore structure
- Light tackle options when conditions allow for an exciting fight
Captain's Tip
“When the current is moving and the bait is stacked up on the structure, the snapper bite can turn on in a hurry.”
Capt. Justin Walker
