WHERE WE FIND THEM
Around Orange Beach, Sheepshead are commonly found around docks, bridges, pilings, jetties, and other hard structure where barnacles, oysters, and crustaceans are plentiful.
HOW WE CATCH THEM
We use a variety of techniques depending on conditions, but these are our go-to methods:
- Fishing live shrimp near structure
- Using fiddler crabs around pilings and docks
- Dropping baits along jetties and bridge supports
- Targeting barnacle-covered structure in shallow water
Captain's Tip
“If you’re waiting for a big thump, you’ve already missed the bite. Sheepshead are masters at stealing bait, so pay attention and set the hook quickly.”
Capt. Justin Walker
