WHERE WE FIND THEM
Around Orange Beach, Speckled Trout are commonly found around grass flats, oyster beds, creek mouths, bayous, and dock lights where baitfish and shrimp are plentiful.
HOW WE CATCH THEM
We use a variety of techniques depending on conditions, but these are our go-to methods:
- Live shrimp under popping corks
- Artificial lures worked over grass flats
- Fishing around dock lights at night
- Drifting live bait through productive areas
Captain's Tip
“Low-light conditions are hard to beat. Early mornings, late evenings, and dock lights at night are often when Speckled Trout feed most aggressively.”
Capt. Justin Walker
