WHERE WE FIND THEM
Wahoo are found in the deep offshore waters of the northern Gulf, often around current breaks, temperature changes, offshore ledges, and areas holding large schools of baitfish. Around Orange Beach, they are most commonly targeted during the cooler months when conditions offshore are favorable.
HOW WE CATCH THEM
We use a variety of techniques depending on conditions, but these are our go-to methods:
- High-speed trolling with artificial lures
- Trolling rigged baits around offshore structure
- Fishing temperature breaks and current lines
- Deep trolling around ledges and offshore features
